Manufacturing Engineer – Assembly (Springfield, MO)

About the role

John Deere is seeking an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to join the Reman team in Springfield, Missouri. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support tooling and equipment, and help ensure high‑quality assembly processes.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Continuous Improvement projects focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
• Investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Apply mistake‑proofing methods to high‑risk and recurring quality problems.
• Develop and update Operator Method Sheets (visual work instructions).
• Support John Deere Assembly Assist Tool (JDAAT) and related manufacturing equipment.
• Plan part locations, point‑of‑use storage, and overall part flow.
• Collaborate with Quality Improvement Teams to raise overall assembly quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
• Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment gained through projects, internships, or practical work.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality, and tooling.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Required skills

• CAD software: AutoCAD, Creo.
• Work‑instruction development: MPP or OMS.
• Software tools: JDAAT, SAP, Windchill.
• Engineering change implementation.
• Standard data application, time study, and line‑balancing techniques.
