Maintenance Technician – Day Shift

About the role

The Hazelwood facility of US Waffle is expanding rapidly and needs a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep its food‑processing equipment running safely and efficiently. This full‑time, day‑shift position reports to the Maintenance Manager and supports both mechanical and electrical systems across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and evaluate work orders, determine required tools, parts, manpower and time.
• Respond to emergency calls with the necessary basic tools and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Perform disassembly, fault diagnosis, repair, re‑assembly and testing of mechanical equipment.
• Fabricate replacement components using welding, cutting or sheet‑metal work.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on pumps, packaging, slicing and cutting equipment.
• Install new machinery and associated utilities (electrical, water, gas, drain).
• Maintain activity logs, equipment records and report any non‑conformities to food‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting medium to high‑complexity machine systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and follow safety and quality procedures.
• Willingness to support a fast‑growing operation and collaborate with the maintenance team.
