Linux L3 Engineer – Red Hat & Virtualization Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Linux L3 Engineer to join our team in Springfield, TX. The role focuses on advanced administration, troubleshooting, and automation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments and related virtualization platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support RHEL 7/8/9 servers, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Manage Satellite and Cluster servers, Kickstart installations, and Identity Management services.
• Design and maintain automation using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Provision bare‑metal and virtual systems, including VMware and other virtualization products.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts (bash/ksh, PERL, Python) for system tasks.
• Implement security controls with SELinux, OSSEC, SSSD, LDAP, and Kerberos.
• Perform disaster recovery planning and OS recovery procedures.
• Monitor infrastructure using BMC Patrol, SolarWinds, and Tivoli Monitoring.

Required profile

• 10+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on Linux system administration.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
