About the role
SB Energy is seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to support its fast‑growing energy and data‑center platform. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, the executive group, and external counsel to navigate complex legal matters as the company expands its portfolio of renewable‑energy and infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice for emerging opportunities in datacenter development, utility‑scale solar, battery storage, and new technology acquisition.
- Support project and corporate financing structures, including construction debt, corporate debt, tax‑equity, and equipment financing.
- Negotiate, draft, and review acquisition agreements, real‑estate documents, lease agreements, power purchase agreements, and EPC/O&M contracts.
- Manage and supervise outside counsel, ensuring compliance with budgetary limits and approving invoices.
- Assist development and operations teams with legal issues related to project execution and ongoing operations.
Required profile
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a top law school with a strong academic record.
- License to practice law in the state of residence.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or corporate finance.
