About the role
Thompson Hine LLP is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys in the Litigation, Labor & Employment and Corporate practice groups at its New York office. The role involves providing comprehensive administrative and practice support while upholding the firm’s standards of quality, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Key responsibilities
- Create, revise, style and format correspondence, memoranda and other documents ensuring error‑free output.
- Enter, review, proofread, edit and release time charges for assigned attorneys.
- Collaborate with the Billing Department to review, revise and submit client invoices.
- Process expense reimbursement requests and follow up on approvals.
- Assist with business intake tasks such as conflict checks, opening new matters and preparing engagement letters.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical client files and prepare files for closure.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and related logistics for attorneys.
- Manage general administrative duties including call handling, mail processing and calendar management.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience as a legal assistant or similar administrative role in a law firm.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality, confidential work.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional interaction with clients, visitors and colleagues.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for calendar and meeting management.
