Labor & Delivery Nurse (RN)

About the role

Join a leading academic medical center in Tyler, TX as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse. You will provide comprehensive care to laboring mothers, collaborating closely with obstetricians and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and supportive deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized care strategies for laboring patients.
• Monitor vital signs, uterine contractions, and fetal heart rates, intervening promptly when needed.
• Administer medications, epidurals, and intravenous fluids as prescribed.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited program.
• Active, unencumbered RN license.
• 1+ years of experience in Labor & Delivery, Obstetrics, or a related field (preferred).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
