IT Systems Engineer

About the role

Colville Inc. is looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to own and evolve the company‑wide IT and cybersecurity program across multiple Alaskan locations. You will work on‑site in Anchorage, collaborating with a skilled team to design, secure, and optimize critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage user accounts and access across Microsoft, Oracle, SAGE, Eagle POS and Epicor.
• Support and maintain operating systems, core applications, servers, backups, switches, access points and firewalls.
• Monitor enterprise systems in network, endpoint and cloud environments.
• Handle hardware and software licensing compliance.
• Provide escalated support and assist with help‑desk triage.
• Detect and respond to cybersecurity threats using SIEM, EDR/XDR, NAC and IDPS tools.
• Apply security patches while minimizing operational impact.
• Support backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Troubleshoot and maintain firewalls, VPNs and networked storage.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams, evaluate new technologies and travel occasionally to other Colville sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration or IT engineering.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
