IT Systems Administrator

About the role

Zygo is seeking an IT Systems Administrator for its Navitar business segment in Middlefield, CT. You will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of Windows server environments supporting advanced optical metrology and manufacturing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019) platforms.
• Administer Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and security permissions.
• Apply system updates, security patches, and software upgrades promptly.
• Implement monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Assist with network configuration, including switches, firewalls, and infrastructure security.
• Administer SAN and NAS storage, overseeing backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell scripting.
• Provide end‑user support for Windows‑related hardware and software problems.
• Support ERP systems, preferably Syteline.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in Windows system and network administration.
• Experience with storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and virtualization (VMware).
• Strong problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
