Interventional Pain Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health is expanding its Interventional Pain Medicine program in the Greater New Orleans area. The position joins a department with a fully accredited residency and pain‑fellowship program, offering both outpatient and peri‑operative interventional pain care while supporting teaching and research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, diagnose clinical conditions and prescribe medications, treatments, and follow‑up care.
• Perform interventional pain procedures and provide comprehensive chronic pain management in outpatient and peri‑operative settings.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the Electronic Health Record and ensure proper coding of visits.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, request additional evaluations, and make referrals as needed.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Anesthesiology or Pain Medicine (PM&R) with a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management.
• Licensed MD/DO, credentialed to maintain clinical practice.
• Willingness to engage in teaching, research, and development of an expanding referral network.

Required skills

• Proficiency in interventional pain procedures.
• Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
