French Teacher – Private Schools (Boston)

About the role

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking qualified French Teachers for the 2026‑2027 academic year at private and independent schools in the Boston area. This full‑time position involves delivering French language instruction to middle or upper‑school students while fostering cultural appreciation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to diverse student skill levels.
• Teach listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills using varied instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for conversational practice and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Introduce students to French culture, including festivals, cuisine, dress, and social conventions.
• Organise events that showcase students’ French language abilities.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and behaviour.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in French.
• 2‑3 years of teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential required.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school‑community activities.
