Food Service Specialist – South Paw Café

About the role

The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College is seeking a Food Service Specialist for its South Paw Café in North Little Rock. Working under the Sous Chef, you will help deliver high‑quality dining experiences to students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Work Monday‑Friday, 6:30 am‑3:00 pm, with occasional night or weekend coverage for special events.
• Greet customers, take orders, and operate the cash register, ensuring accurate cash and credit‑card handling.
• Follow opening and closing procedures for the bistro, set‑up equipment, and maintain a clean front‑of‑house environment.
• Stock and replenish beverage stations, cups, and service supplies.
• Uphold strict hygiene, food safety, and health‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Reliable attendance and flexibility for occasional shift changes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
• Ability to work collaboratively under the supervision of the Sous Chef.

Required skills

• Cash handling and point‑of‑sale (POS) operation.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
