Floating Painter/Porter

About the role

This position provides painting services and general porter duties to ensure that buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality. The role requires regular travel between the Williamsburg and Richmond, VA locations.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assigned painting requests and preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and addressing them according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Obtain and manage materials, supplies, equipment, and tools from the maintenance department, track inventory usage, and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.
