Field Services Technician

About the role

The Field Services Technician is the on‑site representative for multi‑dwelling unit properties after launch. You will work directly with property managers, customers, and internal teams to resolve network, cabling, and low‑voltage system issues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on‑site with property managers, customers, support, and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot, test, and identify root causes for network devices, structured cabling, and low‑voltage systems.
• Document test results, steps taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Provide regular updates during extended outages or issue periods.
• Install structured cabling, network devices, and low‑voltage equipment during demand spikes.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot devices as needed.
• Remove field roadblocks and assist in conflict resolution to improve productivity.
• Maintain a safe working environment and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (college preferred).
• 1+ year of experience with networking, cabling, and at least one low‑voltage system.
• Construction field experience and customer service experience are a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong initiative, urgency, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Network device troubleshooting and testing.
• Structured cabling (copper & fiber) installation and testing.
• Low‑voltage systems (access control, camera surveillance, guest entry, IoT/smart home, audio & video).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with platforms such as ButterflyMX, Comelit, PDK, Brivo, Openeye, ICRealtime/Digital Watch Dog, Resideo/Honeywell, Stratis, Control4, Crestron, or similar.
