English Instructor

About the role

The institution is seeking an English Instructor to deliver composition, developmental English, and literature courses. The role involves teaching both developmental and transfer‑level classes across face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats while fostering student success.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned English courses, including composition, developmental English, and literature.
• Develop and maintain syllabi, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with learning outcomes.
• Utilize the college’s Learning Management System and other instructional technologies to deliver content and assess learning.
• Maintain accurate course records, process enrollment actions, and submit grades on time.
• Communicate regularly with students via college platforms and respond to early‑intervention alerts.
• Provide timely feedback, referrals, and academic support resources.
• Participate in professional development, committee work, and college community events.

Required profile

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in English.
• Commitment to teaching excellence and ability to work with culturally diverse student populations.
• Understanding of equitable and inclusive teaching practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and online teaching tools.
• Ability to design and manage course materials and assessments.
• Strong record‑keeping and grading accuracy.
