About the role
Austin Peay State University seeks a full‑time, temporary instructor to teach English Composition and World Literature. The position supports both online and on‑campus delivery within a department that values small classes and scholarly engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Teach English Composition I, English Composition II, Traditions in World Literature, and additional courses as needed.
- Design and deliver course content in line with the department’s curriculum for both online and on‑campus formats.
- Participate in departmental committees and service activities.
Required profile
- MA in English or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in English (PhD/MA in English or Rhetoric/Composition, MFA in Creative Writing highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience teaching in‑person and online.
- Ability to teach introductory rhetorical concepts, research, and argumentation.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Required skills
- Proficiency with online teaching platforms and learning management systems.
