Engineer I/II – Sign‑On Incentive

About the role

The Field Services Division of Orange County Government is seeking qualified professionals for Engineer I and Engineer II positions. These roles support utility operations, data management, and project delivery while offering a $1,000 sign‑on incentive.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine (Engineer I) or advanced (Engineer II) engineering assignments across water, wastewater, and landfill projects.
• Supervise staff or crews on project phases, ensuring work meets divisional goals.
• Develop, maintain, and implement data‑management procedures and Power BI dashboards.
• Design, test, and deploy software solutions, databases, and applications using Python and VBA.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align project outcomes with organizational priorities.

Required profile

• Professional engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision (Engineer I) or with general supervision (Engineer II).
• Strong analytical mindset and capacity to manage complex, diverse projects.
