Emergency Radiologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Health’s Department of Radiology provides a full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic radiology services across a large integrated health system. The Emergency Radiology section currently includes 17 radiologists, many of whom are fellowship‑trained in abdominal imaging, musculoskeletal, pediatric, or neuroradiology. Full‑time and part‑time positions are available to cover emergency department and inpatient examinations at the main campus and affiliated community hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overnight coverage of emergency department and inpatient imaging studies, typically from 5 PM to 7 AM.
• Interpret examinations across multiple sites, including Ochsner Main Campus and several community hospitals/urgent‑care centers.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, transplant, cardiac, neurosurgical and stroke specialists.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PACS and RIS systems for image acquisition and reporting.
• Experience with AI‑driven radiology tools and natural language processing applications.
• Ability to perform radiology‑guided therapies using advanced imaging technology.
