Director, Risk Management

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a senior leader to shape and continuously improve the risk management framework for its Core Payments business. The Director, Risk Management will work closely with business leaders and the second and third lines of defense to anticipate, mitigate, and remediate risks while supporting responsible growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and enhance the enterprise risk management framework for Core Payments.
• Partner with business leadership to identify emerging risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and monitor ongoing adherence.
• Drive operational resilience initiatives across the payments portfolio.
• Influence senior executives by translating complex risk concepts into actionable insights.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading enterprise risk management in a complex, global organization.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
• Deep expertise in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and operational resilience.
• Extensive knowledge of the payments industry or digital financial products.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
