Director of Data Engineering

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Director of Data Engineering to lead the strategic direction of its Enterprise Data Platform. In this senior role you will shape how data is transformed into intelligent, scalable solutions that support AI initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic technology leadership and champion architectural design patterns for the Enterprise Data Platform.
• Manage and deliver strategic data engineering projects that improve efficiency and data quality.
• Collaborate with Data Governance, Analytics, and Data Science teams to align data strategy with business outcomes.
• Guide, train and mentor analytics and data consumer teams to adopt best‑practice design patterns and advance “Data as a Product”.
• Drive adoption of DataOps and MLOps practices and ensure AI solutions are reliable, responsible and impactful.

Required profile

• Strategic mindset with strong business acumen.
• Proven leadership and communication skills, able to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborative, customer‑facing attitude with a focus on driving data‑driven culture.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of DataOps and MLOps methodologies.
• Experience with AI‑enabled tools for code generation, debugging, architecture and documentation.
• Expertise in designing and operating enterprise‑scale data platforms.
