Diamond Core Driller – Surface Exploration

About the role

Geotech Drilling Services, a member of the ConeTec Group, is seeking an experienced Diamond Core Driller for a surface mineral‑exploration project in Council, Idaho. The role involves operating a high‑performance drill rig to extract core samples for a four‑month contract starting June 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Zinex A5 (or track‑mounted) diamond core drill rigs to achieve borehole depths of 250 m to 1 000 m.
• Extract and document core samples, monitoring pressure gauges, feed/weight indicators, and the appearance of returns.
• Apply project‑specific sampling techniques and maintain accurate records for client and company requirements.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot ancillary equipment such as pumps, heaters, compressors, mud‑recirculation systems and support vehicles.
• Supervise the Drill Assistant and crew, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in surface diamond core drilling for mineral exploration.
• Ability to work safely in remote, rugged environments.
• Strong understanding of drill rig components and HSE procedures.
