Developer II

About the role

United Airlines' Digital Technology team is looking for a Developer II to help design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions that support core airline operations. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into reliable, secure applications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and modifying software applications and systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Provide support to senior developers and contribute to moderate‑to‑complex projects.
• Apply security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Produce and maintain software documentation and user manuals.
• Perform comprehensive unit testing and support deployment activities.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to standards.
• Troubleshoot and optimize software performance, providing follow‑up on issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or completion of United DT Early Career Digital Leadership Program.
• Proficiency in a programming language and experience building back‑end components.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and effective verbal and written communication.
• Eagerness to learn and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Advanced knowledge of SDLC processes, development methodologies, software design patterns, and relevant tooling.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
