Cyber Analyst

About the role

The Cyber Analyst will support Department of War (DoW) information systems through certification, accreditation, and authorization activities. You will work closely with the ISSM and other stakeholders to ensure security controls, risk assessments, and compliance documentation meet federal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes for DoW systems.
• Provide administrative and technical support for risk assessments, security control implementation, and policy development.
• Assess and validate cybersecurity documentation such as SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, risk assessments, contingency and incident response plans.
• Support continuous monitoring and verify compliance with FISMA, RMF, and DoW cybersecurity requirements.
• Coordinate with system owners, ISSMs, ISSOs, engineers, and other cyber security stakeholders to address remediation and authorization activities.
• Analyze cyber risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps, recommending mitigation and acceptance strategies.
• Review RMF artifacts for completeness and accuracy before submission to Authorizing Officials and review boards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience with RMF and ATO packages in Army or other DoW organizations.
• Strong knowledge of DoW policies, directives, and regulatory guidance.
• Experience coordinating cross‑functional cyber teams and managing multiple concurrent ATO packages.
• Ability to communicate risks, issues, and mitigation activities to senior leadership and government customers.
