About the role
We are seeking a Critical Rotating Equipment Engineer to join BASF's Global Engineering team in Freeport, Texas. The role supports multiple BASF sites, focusing on improving the availability and reliability of rotating equipment across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Provide on‑site support for rotating equipment troubleshooting, repair, overhauls and outage management.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for critical assets.
- Lead reliability programs such as Bad Actor, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Reliability Centered Maintenance and Risk Based Maintenance.
- Collaborate with plant maintenance, engineering, production and research teams across sites.
- Act as a technical resource for refrigeration and chiller systems, including contract scope definition and contractor management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in rotating equipment troubleshooting and repair in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to make business‑critical decisions and recommendations.
