Controller – Manufacturing Finance Leader

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Controller to join the leadership team of a fast‑growing advanced manufacturing organization. This role blends day‑to‑day accounting responsibilities with strategic financial analysis, helping executives make data‑driven decisions in a high‑tech, product‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function: month‑end close, financial reporting, general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and cash management.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and enhance operational reporting, KPIs, job costing, and margin analysis.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Oversee inventory, cost, and standard costing, including variance analysis.
• Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures.
• Support cash‑flow management, working‑capital planning, and capital‑expenditure analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks, tax advisors, and other service providers.
• Assist pricing, contract profitability, and operational decision‑making.
• Optimize ERP reporting, system usage, and related process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and any industry‑specific reporting requirements.
• Mentor accounting team members and build a scalable finance function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Cost Accounting Manager, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing variances, and operational finance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with operations and executive leadership.
