Consultant – M&A Due Diligence in Aerospace & Defense

About the role

Fairmont Consulting Group is seeking a Consultant to join its fast‑growing M&A due‑diligence and strategic advisory practice serving private‑equity, investor, and corporate clients in the aerospace, defense, and government services sectors. The role is based in Boston (with a Washington D.C. office option) and offers a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and database development for client engagements.
• Support commercial due‑diligence, strategy, and corporate‑level analysis projects.
• Interact directly with clients and industry stakeholders as part of project teams.
• Travel a few days each month as required.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, economics, finance, or business; MBA or relevant graduate degree from a top‑tier institution.
• Top‑quartile academic performance (GPA, class rank).
• Minimum five years post‑undergraduate experience in aerospace, defense, space, or government services.
• Proven experience in market analysis, strategy, or commercial due‑diligence.
• Strong domain knowledge of aerospace, defense, and/or government services.
• Demonstrated functional expertise in business analysis, corporate strategy, or M&A.
• Flexibility, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Client or prior employer references strongly preferred.
