Construction Manager – Early Works

About the role
This contract position supports Microsoft’s datacenter expansion by leading Early Works construction activities. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee civil‑specialty projects such as mass grading, earthworks, demolition, environmental remediation, stormwater, utilities, roadways, bridges, and substation pads.
Key responsibilities
- Provide on‑site construction management for Early Works across multiple sites.
- Develop, monitor and report scope, schedule, budget, and cost controls to executive teams.
- Serve as the single point of contact for Early Works, coordinating vendors, cost managers and lessons‑learned integration.
- Lead stakeholder, regulatory and community engagement activities.
- Ensure safety compliance by reviewing audit results, legislation and implementing mitigation plans.
- Prepare regular internal status reports, dashboards and scorecards to meet KPIs.
- Manage vendor performance and contract compliance.
- Refine short‑ and long‑term project plans to drive delivery.
Required profile
- 10+ years of experience in mass grading and civil construction management.
- 7+ years of progressive responsibility delivering complex capital projects.
- 7+ years of construction program and project management experience.
- Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget and safety on large‑scale sites.
