Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Operations Director

About the role

Hawthorn Innovations is seeking a senior operations leader to orchestrate workflow across its creative, production, manufacturing, and supply‑chain divisions. The role focuses on aligning teams, improving efficiency, and scaling execution so leadership can concentrate on growth and client strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Translate high‑level client requests, statements of work, and internal priorities into clear execution plans.
• Ensure the right people are assigned to projects, timelines are realistic, and bottlenecks are identified early.
• Oversee operational flow across Creative, Design, Production, Build/Fabrication, Supply Chain, Warehouse & Logistics, and Client Services.
• Develop and refine SOPs, accountability structures, and internal communication processes.
• Optimize Airtable and other project‑tracking systems for visibility and efficiency.
• Provide leadership with data‑driven recommendations on staffing, resource allocation, and prioritization.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior operations or COO‑type roles, preferably in multi‑disciplinary environments.
• Strong ability to align cross‑functional teams and maintain clear communication.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and propose scalable solutions.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, creative‑driven company.
