About the role
Barrel One Collective is seeking an experienced Cellar Operator to join its Boston production brewery. The role is hands‑on, supporting brewhouse operations, fermentation management, filtration, and quality control in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Execute brewhouse tasks such as milling, hop additions, and wort production.
- Perform CIP/CUP cleaning and sanitation of fermenters, brite tanks, and transfer lines.
- Manage yeast handling, pitching, cell counts, dry hopping, and gravity readings.
- Operate filtration systems and assist with pilot‑brew projects.
- Monitor turbidity, CO₂, and O₂ levels to ensure product specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate production logs and documentation.
- Support packaging teams and other cross‑functional production groups.
- Keep workspaces safe, clean, and organized.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of brewing or beverage manufacturing experience.
- Strong knowledge of fermentation, sanitation, and filtration processes.
- Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability.
- Willingness to work varied shifts in a production setting.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and work in temperature‑variable environments.
