CDL Instructor (Commercial Truck Driving)

About the role

The Commercial Truck Driving Instructor joins the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope‑Texarkana to deliver high‑quality instruction in commercial driver training. Reporting to the Director of Business & Industry Relations, the instructor will help shape the curriculum and ensure students gain the skills needed for successful careers in trucking.

Key responsibilities

• Develop course syllabi, teaching resources, and related activities for assigned CDL courses.
• Deliver classroom and hands‑on instruction to students, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the Director to enhance, promote, and continuously improve the truck‑driving program.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate academic records.
• Stay current with industry best practices and integrate them into the curriculum.

Required profile

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Professional experience operating commercial trucks.
• Ability to develop and deliver instructional material for adult learners.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to student success.
