Cash Payments Operator Analyst – Corporate & Investment Banking

About the role

The CIB US Cash Payments Operator Analyst will support and execute a range of payment‑related tasks within Santander’s Corporate & Investment Banking division. This role focuses on day‑to‑day operations, ensuring payments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor payment transactions to ensure processing aligns with Service Level Agreements and bank policies.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies and issues in payment processing.
• Open and manage investigation cases, following up with all relevant parties.
• Escalate operational or technical payment issues independently.
• Collaborate with other departments to address payment‑related questions.
• Perform end‑of‑day reconciliation and analyze any discrepancies.
• Ensure payment systems are functioning properly and assist with testing during BCP events, upgrades, or maintenance.
• Participate in projects and initiatives that impact payment operations.
• Conduct testing of new payment features and system upgrades.
• Maintain compliance with BSA/AML, OFAC, and other regulatory standards.
• Prepare management reports on payment processing and investigations.
• Provide support to internal users such as Finance, Business Operations, and Client Service teams.
