About the role

The Auditing & Accounting Unit of the NYC Campaign Finance Board is seeking dedicated Auditors to help ensure political campaigns comply with the Campaign Finance Act and Board Rules. This role supports the integrity of the city’s matching‑funds program and contributes to transparent local elections.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial records and disclosure statements for desk and field audits of political campaigns.
• Conduct compliance and investigative audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
• Manage an assigned audit caseload, meeting internal and external deadlines.
• Coordinate with other CFB units during the post‑election period and throughout the audit process.
• Prepare written audit reports and documentation.
• Work overtime as needed to complete audit assignments.

Required profile

• Commitment to ensuring candidates adhere to campaign finance regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple audit assignments and meet strict deadlines.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
• Proficiency in analyzing financial records and disclosure statements.
