Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting

About the role

The Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting supports the development and execution of property-wide financial strategies at JW Marriott New Orleans. This role provides the financial expertise needed to implement brand initiatives, maximize ROI, and align the business plan with the property’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and managing the annual operating budget and forecasting sales versus expenses.
• Analyze actual performance against budget, identify variances, and recommend cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support the development of profit‑improvement initiatives, including cost‑benefit analysis and new business opportunities.
• Provide analytical support during budget reviews and monitor ongoing financial results.
• Help implement internal controls to manage business risks and safeguard assets.
• Produce accurate financial forecasts to enable operational responsiveness.
• Lead and communicate financial goals to the finance team and property managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (4‑year program).
• At least 1 year of experience in finance or accounting.
• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is acceptable with no required experience.
