Assistant Construction Project Manager

About the role

Midsouth Steel LLC is seeking an Assistant Construction Project Manager to support project managers on site in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on coordinating field operations, managing submittals and RFIs, and ensuring projects follow design plans and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily fieldwork activities and subcontractor organization.
• Obtain and coordinate project schedules, submittal schedules, and RFIs.
• Log all submittals and RFIs, and follow up with detailing, engineering (Jira) and clients.
• Maintain project folders for submittals, RFIs, and design drawings.
• Provide status reports and organize resources to meet contract deadlines.
• Process production packages for fabrication and coordinate material deliveries.
• Support field superintendents and foremen with shop and design drawings.
• Attend progress meetings, capture data, and input it into software applications.
• Ensure accurate cost coding and adherence to project close‑out requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field, OR 4 years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with program and construction management concepts, procedures, and terminology.
• Strong ability to produce reports, proposals, technical correspondence, and documentation.
• Comfort working both in an office environment and on construction sites.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook.
• Willingness and ability to learn company‑specific software as needed.
