About the role
The Assistant Community Manager will support the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the Fieldstone student living community at UMass Amherst. This role is essential for ensuring accurate accounting, timely rent collection, and smooth day‑to‑day property operations.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and post rent, fees, and other resident payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
- Process invoices, code charges to the appropriate Chart of Accounts, and manage vendor communications.
- Operate the property management software (Yardi/OneSite) to record transactions, generate reports, and maintain data integrity.
- Review resident files for unpaid balances, communicate with residents about delinquencies, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
- Prepare monthly financial close‑out reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Support eviction procedures, including notice compliance and representation in court hearings.
- Handle resident move‑out processes, including lease termination, deposit calculations, and fee assessments.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record‑keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently while supporting the Community Manager.
- Basic understanding of property management and real‑estate operations.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Yardi property management software.
- Proficiency with OneSite property management software.
