Android Mobile Developer

About the role

The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) of the City of Philadelphia is seeking an Android Mobile Developer to create and maintain high‑quality native Android applications. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver responsive, user‑friendly mobile experiences that support the city’s digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Android SDK and related tools.
• Build responsive mobile interfaces that adapt to various screen sizes and device configurations.
• Implement Android‑specific features such as push notifications, background services, and device integrations.
• Ensure apps meet Google Play Store guidelines and handle the submission process.
• Write clean, maintainable code following Android best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization across different Android hardware.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate pixel‑perfect designs into functional Android screens.
