Aircraft Worker (JEIM) - Eglin AFB

About the role

Amentum is recruiting an Aircraft Worker (Jet Engine Inspection and Maintenance, JEIM) for Eglin AFB. The worker repairs, maintains and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior) or Lead, and removes and installs aircraft components.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and inspect aircraft structures, systems, components and related equipment
• Remove and install aircraft components
• Conduct functional tests of repaired components and systems
• Adjust, align and rig aircraft systems where required
• Perform aircraft jacking, lifting and towing operations where required
• Inspect and identify aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair
• Perform crash recovery duties where required
• Handle hazardous waste and materials properly, and follow supply and deficiency reporting procedures

Required profile

• Mandatory qualification as Aircraft Worker, with at least three years of experience installing, inspecting, repairing or overhauling aircraft structures, systems and components
• Completion of a basic applicable aircraft maintenance course
• High school completion with mathematics courses is desirable
• Secret clearance required
• Must have held an Air Force or sister service equivalent Jet engine AFSC
• Preferred: experience in a JEIM shop tearing down and rebuilding F100-PW-100 and F100-PW-220 engines; additional experience with F100-PW-229, F110-GE-129E, F110-GE-100 and F110-GE-129 desired

Required skills

• Knowledge of aircraft system principles, maintenance directives, data reporting and technical data
• Working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures and MIS (CAMS/IMDS)
• Ability to remove and replace line replaceable units (LRU) and rig them if required
• Borescope qualification and blade blend certification preferred
