AI and Data Science Engineer III

About the role

Deloitte's Human Capital team is seeking an AI and Data Science Engineer III to design, build, and operate the data, feature, and generative AI foundations that power our Human Capital AI products and analytics. You will work closely with an AI Data Engineer and a Lead AI Solutions Architect, collaborating with product, data science, security, and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate Human Capital product requirements into technical designs, APIs, services, pipelines, and containerized or serverless components.
• Build and operationalize large‑language‑model (LLM) capabilities such as copilots, knowledge assistants, summarization, and policy Q&A using Claude, GPT/Codex, Gemini and secure endpoints.
• Implement retrieval‑augmented generation patterns, including document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector or hybrid search, and telemetry.
• Deliver governed datasets and feature‑engineering pipelines for model training and real‑time inference, ensuring consistency, caching, latency targets, and backfills.
• Apply privacy, access control, data lineage, monitoring, observability, testing, deployment, and incident‑response practices for production AI solutions.
