Administrative Clerk – NASA Balloon Operations Ground Station Monitor

About the role

Peraton is seeking a temporary Administrative Clerk to support the NASA Scientific Balloon Program at the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility in Palestine, TX. The role involves 24/7 ground station monitoring for balloon missions, ensuring continuous data flow from launch to termination.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor ground station equipment during active balloon missions.
• Log real‑time and historical mission data according to documented procedures.
• Report mission status to the operations team as required.
• Maintain required training qualifications and certifications.
• Provide on‑call support and continuous coverage for the duration of each balloon campaign.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong computer knowledge and ability to operate standard office software.
• Detail‑oriented and highly organized.
• Ability to work early‑morning or overnight shifts and be on‑call.
• Capability to accurately log real‑time and historical records.
