Adjunct Psychology Instructor (In-Person)

About the role

Platt College Los Angeles is seeking an enthusiastic Adjunct Psychology Instructor to teach in‑person General Education courses. This part‑time position supports adult learners across our four Southern California campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high‑quality instruction for psychology General Education classes.
• Maintain an organized, disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Align course content with program objectives and professional career pathways.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with department staff to continuously improve curriculum.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field (required).
• Minimum two years of teaching or instructional experience preferred.
• At least 15 semester (or 23 quarter) credit hours in a subject supporting the General Education curriculum.
• Strong motivation, dedication, and enthusiasm for teaching adult learners.

Required skills

• Understanding of adult learning principles and educational environments.
• Ability to create a positive and effective learning atmosphere.
• Good organization and communication abilities.
