Tax Consultant – Remote, $38.4/hr

About the role

We are seeking a remote Tax Consultant to join our team on a short‑term contract. You will create tax workflow prompts, evaluate AI‑generated tax reasoning, and help improve our tax automation systems over a four‑week period.

Key responsibilities

• Create tax workflow prompts and realistic tax return scenarios.
• Evaluate AI‑generated tax calculations, compliance workflows, and reasoning.
• Identify edge cases such as deduction errors, apportionment issues, and ASC 740 miscalculations.
• Build expert rubrics and structured reasoning traces for AI evaluation.
• Review and assess AI‑generated outputs related to tax preparation and compliance.
• Contribute to enhancing AI understanding of tax workflows and regulations.

Required profile

• Strong experience in individual, business, or corporate tax.
• Experience with TurboTax, ProConnect, GoSystem Tax RS, and/or ONE SOURCE.
• Solid knowledge of US tax law and GAAP fundamentals.
• Excellent written communication and analytical skills.
• CPA or EA certification strongly preferred.
• High attention to detail and ability to evaluate complex tax scenarios.
• Experience with corporate tax provisions or multi‑state taxation is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI evaluation, LLMs, or tax automation tools is preferred.

What we offer

• $38.4 per hour.
• Remote work with a 40‑hour week and at least 4 hours overlap with PST.
• Four‑week contract with immediate start.
