Tax Analyst (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to join our North American operations of a global commodities trading firm. The role supports both indirect and direct tax compliance and financial reporting in a fast‑paced, multi‑jurisdictional environment. The position is based in New York with a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Support indirect tax compliance by preparing and filing multi‑jurisdictional sales and use tax returns accurately and on time.
• Review tax notices and assessments, conduct research, and assist in drafting responses with supporting documentation.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, including preparing tax journal entries and processing required payments.
• Contribute to direct tax processes by gathering data and supporting federal and state tax filings.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in indirect or state and local tax, preferably in public accounting or a similar environment.
• Familiarity with multi‑jurisdictional sales and use tax compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Exposure to partnership or income tax is a plus.
