System Administrator

About the role

NY Creates is seeking a skilled System Administrator to design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems for the organization and its partners. You will act as a technical liaison, translating business needs into reliable, secure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Install, patch, provision accounts, and administer Windows servers, applications, and data storage.
• Support Microsoft server roles (AD, DHCP, DNS, file/print shares) and Microsoft 365 cloud solutions.
• Provide desktop, laptop, server, and mobile device support.
• Participate in design discussions for new hardware, network, cloud, or application deployments.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans and forecast capacity needs.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend hardware/software purchases.

Required profile

• Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing Windows server environments.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with peers, leadership, vendors, and tenants.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint) administration.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure Intune.
• SCCM, WSUS, Windows Server 2016+.
• PowerShell scripting.
• VMware virtualization.
• Multi‑factor authentication (MFA) implementation.
