Podcast Strategy & Distribution Intern (Spanish)

About the role

The United Nations Department of Global Communications is seeking a motivated intern to support its Spanish Language Unit in developing and launching a new podcast series. This role combines content creation, social‑media strategy, and analytics to help amplify UN messages in Spanish.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in producing graphic, visual, and audio assets for social media.
• Support posting and strategic planning of social‑media content.
• Conduct benchmarking research on podcast formats, release cadence, and audience targeting.
• Analyze best practices on major audio platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Podcasts) for discoverability.
• Develop optimized episode titles, descriptions, and keyword strategies.
• Create standardized metadata templates and a distribution roadmap.
• Research and propose KPIs for the first three months post‑launch.
• Design a basic analytics tracking framework and document publication workflows.
• Review partnership databases and identify new digital‑media partners.
• Draft Spanish news articles by translating and integrating information from UN sources.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate program (or final year of a bachelor’s) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, Spanish or translation studies.
• Computer literate with standard word‑processing and spreadsheet software.
• Familiarity with major social‑media platforms and basic understanding of podcast distribution.
