Neuroscience Patient Care Technician

About the role
The Neuroscience Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care within the neuroscience unit at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Working under the supervision of nursing staff, the technician assists with neurological assessments, monitors patient status, and supports clinical procedures to ensure high‑quality care for patients with neurological conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver bedside care and assist patients with daily activities.
- Monitor and document neurological status, vital signs, and patient responses.
- Support physicians and nurses during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families about care processes and post‑procedure instructions.
Required profile
- Current employee of the University of Arkansas System (including student employees and graduate assistants).
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
- Relevant experience or training in patient care, nursing, or a related health‑science field.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
