Marketing Director – Charleston

About the role

Tanger is looking for a Marketing Director to lead the marketing strategy for its Charleston shopping center. The role blends independent decision‑making with collaborative teamwork, leveraging a flexible, technology‑enabled workplace to drive traffic, sales, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual marketing plan and budget that boosts center sales, foot traffic, and sponsorship/media revenue.
• Serve as the primary business development representative, prospecting, canvassing, and closing media, sponsorship, and non‑transactional revenue deals.
• Monitor the marketing budget, account for variances, and adjust plans in real time based on business conditions.
• Prepare monthly financial forecasts, track revenue and expenses, and provide regular updates to the General Manager.
• Assist the General Manager in creating a comprehensive strategic business plan for the center.
• Design and launch national and local programs that integrate retailers and drive shopper engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing and executing marketing plans and managing budgets.
• Demonstrated success in business development, including securing sponsorship and media partnerships.
• Ability to produce accurate financial forecasts and communicate results to senior leadership.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and supporting strategic planning initiatives.
• Strong understanding of retail or shopping‑center environments.
