Law Clerk II – Litigation Support

About the role
CGS is seeking an experienced Law Clerk II to support all phases of litigation for a large federal agency office. The position focuses on high‑priority opioid and other high‑profile cases, offering a chance to make an immediate impact on the agency’s mission.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with trial preparation, litigation tasks, and case management as directed by attorneys.
- Review, analyze, and organize documents, transcripts, and other evidence using electronic databases.
- Conduct database searches, apply redactions to various document types, including audio files, and draft review memos.
- Communicate directly with case teams regarding ongoing litigation and manage litigation review materials.
- Use task ticketing software to track support activities and troubleshoot technical issues with review platforms.
Required profile
- J.D. degree or equivalent legal training; active member of the Bar in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- U.S. citizenship.
- At least two years of progressive experience on litigation support projects, preferably involving complex federal cases.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state court systems and legal research procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Experience using electronic document review platforms and file management systems.
- Familiarity with task ticketing software for case tracking.
- Ability to perform database searches, indexing, tagging, and summarizing large volumes of documents.
