About the role
The Grants Administrator I provides post‑award support for sponsored research projects at East Texas A&M University. Working under general supervision, the role ensures compliance with award terms, manages financial accounts, and facilitates communication with sponsors.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain accounts in the A&M System accounting platform.
- Review and interpret award terms, cost‑sharing requirements, budgets, and sponsor regulations.
- Prepare and distribute award notices and related documentation.
- Monitor compliance with deliverable requirements and university policies.
- Assist principal investigators with post‑award financial and administrative queries.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex award documents.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with researchers and university staff.
Required skills
- Familiarity with university accounting systems (e.g., A&M System).
- Understanding of sponsored research regulations and compliance.
