French 2 Tutor (Online)

About the role

Varsity Tutors is seeking experienced French 2 tutors to deliver one‑on‑one online instruction to high‑school students across the United States. You will work from home, set your own schedule, and help learners master intermediate French grammar, vocabulary, and conversation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver live, interactive tutoring sessions via the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform.
• Explain past‑tense selection (passé composé vs. imparfait), object pronoun placement, reflexive verbs, and comparative forms.
• Prepare students for reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening tasks at the French 2 level.
• Adapt lessons using authentic videos, structured writing activities, and paired conversation exercises.
• Track student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve proficiency.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of French 2 curriculum topics, especially past‑tense distinctions and pronoun usage.
• Proven ability to explain complex grammar concepts in multiple ways.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
• Flexibility to tailor instruction to diverse learning styles and needs.

Required skills

• Fluency in French at an intermediate‑advanced level.
• Experience tutoring or teaching French to high‑school students.
• Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and video‑conferencing tools.
