About the role

Join Varsity Tutors' Live Learning Platform as an online French 1 Tutor. You will work remotely, providing personalized instruction to students across the United States who are beginning their French language journey.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one online tutoring sessions focused on foundational French vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and basic conversation.
• Adapt lesson plans to match each student’s learning style using visual aids, TPR activities, and guided practice.
• Utilize the platform’s AI‑powered Tutor Copilot to generate lesson content and receive real‑time instructional support.
• Track student progress and provide feedback to help learners achieve novice‑high proficiency.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of French 1 curriculum, including present‑tense conjugations, articles, adjective agreement, numbers, question formation, and negation.
• Ability to explain regular and common irregular verb patterns and pronunciation rules.
• Experience teaching middle‑school, high‑school, or adult beginners and familiarity with ACTFL novice standards.
• Strong communication skills, friendly teaching style, and flexibility to adapt to diverse learner needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in French at a level sufficient to teach beginner concepts.
• Experience with online tutoring platforms and virtual classroom tools.
