Financial Controller – Revenue-based Finance & SMB Lending

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, detail‑oriented Financial Controller to join our growing finance team. The role offers a unique chance for a public‑accounting professional to transition into a fast‑paced, tech‑enabled financial services environment focused on revenue‑based finance, SMB lending, and factoring.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Partner with the CFO and VP of Finance to develop internal audit procedures and maintain general‑ledger accuracy.
• Ensure GAAP‑compliant revenue recognition for RBF products and SMB loans.
• Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate external audits, collateral examinations and tax preparation.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and produce reporting for lenders and financing partners.
• Own the annual budgeting process and consolidate departmental inputs.
• Perform monthly variance analysis, update rolling forecasts and build financial models tracking portfolio performance.
• Prepare cost‑analysis reports and support internal management reporting packages.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of progressive experience in public accounting (audit, assurance or advisory), preferably with a Big 4 or regional firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA designation is a plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and exposure to financial‑services or fintech clients.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial information to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
